This is porn – according to Apple

The developer of the critically acclaimed Papers, Please was required to dress his game a little before it could be released on the iPad.

Papers, Please delves in themes that we seldom see touched by video games. In the game the player needs to take on the rather uncomfortable role of a border guard for an unstable country. Every day you’ll have to check people who want to cross the border and you have to decide if these immigrants’ papers are all right.

The game explores the gray area between right and wrong, and some even say the game could teach empathy through its clever design.

Since you’re rewarded with better equipment when you progress in the game, you will at some point receive a body scanner to help you decide if the immigrants should be allowed to pass.

The body scanner is what bothers Apple, since it involves seeing the pixelated little people in the nude.

Lucas Pope, the creator of Papers, Please, posted the following message on Twitter:

The iPad version has no full nudity option for the search scanner photos. Apple rejected that build for containing “pornographic content.”

The “unnudified” version of Papers, Please releases on iPad on December 12. Now, let’s hope Apple does something soon about the violence against pigs in Angry Birds as well.
